What a very quality bitch. I really liked her ring presence. Seen from any angle, standing it was hard to fault her. Beautifully balanced with lovely clean lines. Standing four square she looked hard to knock off her feet. Strong head of correct proportions with keen expression, dark eye, nicely placed rose ears. She moved a little closer behind going away than the dog, which just cost her BOB.

What a class act this is. Excellent head. Good proportions, deep throughout and all set off by excellently placed ears. Good front and straight bone. She stood up on her strong pasterns throughout. Level topline. Very well bent stifles. In the final analysis it was fascinating to compare this bitch with her kennel mate – winner of the previous class. I would have been happy to give either the Challenge and it was a case of splitting hairs. In general I preferred the overall balance, as I saw it of my winner.

Thank you to my co-judge Joanne Hartnett fro sending me this wonderful bitch. Having seen her now a few times, I can attest that her virtues are many and when she is "switched on" she is hard to beat. Today was one of those days. A strongly made girl with a typical Stafford bitch head showing no exaggeration, eyes well placed and correct expression finished by small neat rose ears. Correct scissor bite. Well up on pasterns, shoulders not too heavy into well sprung ribs. Hindquarters well muscled, angulation correct and let down into short hocks. Moves with purpose and showed with animation. My pleasure to award her Best In Show over a strong Terrier lineup. Congratulations !

Beautifully presented Black Brindle bitch, "of a typical English style". Pleasing head with a good dark eye colour, well placed ears and a well defined stop and furrow. Short coupled, lighter boned than some others. She was beautifully angled. Good topline on stack which she maintained when moving. Shown in top condition, she sparkled.

An outstanding bl/br who caught my eye immediately on entering the ring, she is certainly out of the top drawer and a credit to her breeder. Well turned out by her proud owners, in peak condition, a pleasure to go over. Everything is in balance & put together as it should be. For me, without doubt the star of the show, this quality exhibit would stand out anywhere, oozing breed type, balance & conformation, coupled with sound movement, difficult to find fault, her virtues are all there to be seen. Expertly handled to CC & BIS.

Black brindle. Beautiful headed bitch with strength together with femininity. She has dark round eyes and neat rose ears. Scissor bite. Her front is straight and clean into shoulder and her topline is level, whether standing or moving. She has correct hindquarters and moves with purpose and was animated and alert this evening. She is a top sized girl, presented in gleaming condition and has no exaggerations and I had no hesitation in awarding her Challenge bitch and then on to Best In Show - congratulations.

A gleaming black brindle bitch of extreme quality and as close as I've seen to my idea of a perfect bitch. She caught my eye the second she walked into the ring and did not put a foot wrong. A strong but feminine head with a dark round eye, correct bite, neat rose ears, strong underjaw, beautiful expression, good shoulder placement leading to a well boned straight front with tight feet, nice depth of brisket, good spring of rib, level topline which held on the move, good rear end angulations, nice tuck up, Fit, excellent condition, handled well. I could go on and on. A credit to her owners. I had no hesitation in awarding her the CC and BIS. WELL DONE."

She came, I saw, and she conquered. Top sized gleaming black brindle with such style, she is certainly quite striking. Excellent head, strong square muzzle, but losing none of her feminine charm, distinct stop and correct bite, dark round piercing eye and to complete the picture, thin small ears. Straight front, good boned front legs with no weakness of pasterns, nicely muscled body, short back, level topline and well tucked up showing off her strong hindquarters. Didn’t put a foot wrong, moved with drive. Pleased to award CC & BIS.

Correct shoulder placement, good depth of brisket, well sprung ribs and short coupled. Great angulation of rear quarters with well let down hocks. A very sound mover, shown in first class condition and handled to perfection. Proud to award her a deserved Challenge Bitch and Runner Up In Show on the day.

Black/brindle. A super quality specimen who presented a clean outline. Strong head of correct proportions with feminine expression. Mouth correct, muzzle of good strength but slightly lippy. Dark round eyes and neat ears completed the picture. Body short coupled with level top line. Moved out well enough on sound rear quarters. Surprised to discover she is only 11˝ months and therefore hope she doesn’t go too strong. A classy youngster who should have a promising career ahead of her.

This puppy was one of the real ‘finds’ of the day for me. At just six months she is so very stylish, really looking the part with a lovely outline, great topline and back end developing, and a head to die for with excellent ear carriage and expression. She moved around the ring as though it was her own and gave me no option but to award her first. Until I got right up to the top classes she was heading for top honours, but I am certain that is only a matter of time. This would’ve been one to sneak home in my luggage!
